Franklin Park
At over 500 acres, this is Boston's largest park, designed by Frederick Law Olmsted as the crowning jewel of the Emerald Necklace, with woodland trails, meadows, a golf course, and the historic Wilderness forest. It's also home to the Franklin Park Zoo, making it a full-day outing for families. Practical note: it's expansive and partly wooded, so the zoo and main loops are the easiest entry points for first-time visitors.
