Garfield Park Conservatory

One of the largest conservatories in the U.S., a lush "landscape art under glass" on the West Side with soaring fern, palm, and desert houses and a renowned cactus collection — and it's free. It's a warm, green escape any season. Take the Green Line right to its door; it's quieter and more local than downtown sights.
