Museum of Science and Industry
The largest science museum in the Western Hemisphere, in a 1893 World's Fair building in Hyde Park, with a captured WWII U-505 submarine, a walk-through coal mine, a baby-chick hatchery, and hands-on exhibits for kids. Plan a full day. It's a trek south; combine it with Jackson Park next door.
