The Rookery Building

An 1888 Loop landmark by Burnham & Root whose dazzling two-storey light court was remodelled by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1905 — gleaming white marble, gold leaf, and a sweeping staircase. The lobby is open to visitors on weekdays. Step in for the atrium; guided tours go deeper into its history.
