The Met Cloisters

The Met Cloisters

A serene branch of the Met at Manhattan's northern tip, assembled from pieces of medieval European monasteries — cloistered gardens, the Unicorn tapestries, and stained glass — set in Fort Tryon Park above the Hudson. It feels worlds away from downtown. Make the trip for the architecture and views; it's covered by the same ticket as the main Met.
