Lombard Street (Crooked Street)

The famously winding one-way block on Russian Hill with eight tight switchback turns descending a steep hillside, lined with hydrangeas and red-brick paving. Walk the stairs alongside for the best photos looking down toward Coit Tower and the bay. Practical note: it's a real residential street; if driving down expect long queues on weekends, so walking is usually easier.
