A 1912-vintage seafood counter with just 18 stools, beloved by chefs and locals for impeccably fresh oysters, crab, and clam chowder served over a marble bar. Go for the no-frills, old-San-Francisco experience as much as the seafood. Practical note: cash only, no reservations, and it only opens for lunch (roughly 8 am to 2:30 pm, weekdays) so arrive early or expect a line.
