Washington Park Arboretum
A 230-acre living plant collection run by the University of Washington, with woodland trails, seasonal blooms and the Azalea Way path. Go for a peaceful walk among the trees and to visit the separately-ticketed Seattle Japanese Garden at the south end. Practical note: the Arboretum grounds are free, but the Japanese Garden charges admission and is closed in winter, so check hours before visiting.
