Thomas Jefferson Memorial

A domed, columned rotunda on the south bank of the Tidal Basin enshrining a bronze statue of Jefferson amid excerpts from the Declaration of Independence. Go for the serene waterside setting, especially during the spring cherry blossom bloom that rings the basin. Open 24 hours and free; note that fencing from the Tidal Basin seawall reconstruction may remain near the site into spring 2026.
