United States Capitol & Visitor Center

The seat of Congress, an iconic domed building whose interior includes the Rotunda, National Statuary Hall, and the Crypt. Free guided tours start in the underground Visitor Center and pass through historic chambers, with an exhibition hall and a 500-seat restaurant on site. Tours require a free advance pass booked at visitthecapitol.gov; the center is open Monday through Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
